About the event
You’ll begin with the foundation of every true botanical study.
As an introduction to the art of botanical drawing, we will first seek inspiration in the monastery garden. Afterwards, in this course, we will explore the essence of botanical art in an easily understandable way, with plenty of technical tips and assistance.
The preliminary sketch is crucial: We explore light sources, shapes, and parts of a flower or fruit. In doing so, we learn a great deal about perspective, composition, and color. A drawing can remain monochromatic in gray and still achieve a strong 3D effect. Realistic botanical art is based on a series of patient steps, all of which have to start somewhere—join us.
No prior knowledge is required.
